AVE MARIA VILLAGE EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
Employees working Regular Full-Time 30 hours or more per week are eligible for health insurance coverage. We provide a high-deductible health plan and pay the major portion of the premium. Please see our Human Resources Director regarding plan benefits and enrollment criteria.
Using a Health Savings Account, employees are allowed to set aside part of their earnings tax-free through payroll deduction to help fund their health insurance deductible and/or fund a variety of other health-related expenses not covered by insurance.
Individuals can set up a Flexible Spending Account, which provides an opportunity through payroll deduction to set aside a portion of what would have been taxable income for payment of a wide range of health-related expenses. If an employee has an HSA, an FSA can only be used for dental and/or vision expenses.
Employees working Regular Part-Time 15 or more per week are eligible for dental and vision coverage.
A 3% contribution to a 401(K) account is provided at no cost to the employee. This contribution begins after one year of service. To meet eligibility requirements, employees must complete 1,000 hours of service within a 12-month period and must be at least 21 years of age. An employee may contribute their own earnings to the 401(K) plan pre-tax, up to a certain level.
The Employee Assistance Program provides a valuable benefit to employees and their family members by making available counseling services for a variety of personal needs at no charge for a set number of visits.
Catastrophic leave provides protection from pay losses due to an employee’s hospitalization or long-term serious medical problems. Employees hired for at least fifteen (15) hours per week are eligible to earn CAT time.
Paid Time Off is provided to each employee in a benefit-eligible position of at least fifteen (15) hours per week. It is an account in which all earned credit for vacation, holidays, and short-term sick time accumulates. PTO is earned at a set ratio which increases with years of service.
There are seven (7) paid holidays per year. These are built into an employee’s Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit.
Regular full-time and part-time hourly employees receive one-and-one-half (1 ½) times their regular rate of pay for working on the paid holiday.
