Ave Maria Village offers many opportunities for individuals in the health care field. Positions are available for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses, medication assistants, certified nursing assistants, housekeeping, laundry, dietary, and more. There are a variety of exciting career possibilities available in a number of different areas.
Benefits
The purpose of providing benefits is to address the economic and security needs for you and your family. In some instances, benefits may vary among facilities, but only when SMP Health System has consciously decided that differences should exist for good business reason, usually related to different markets and competitive practices. As well, some facilities have employee classifications that are not eligible for benefits unless stated in the policy for the benefit.
Employees working at least 15 hours per week are eligible for the following benefits, and benefits are effective the first of the month following your date of hire:
- High Deductible Health Plan – Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota – Blue Saver 100
- Health Savings Account – AMV provides a prorated monthly contribution to your HSA equal to your annual health plan deductible. You can use your HSA to pay your deductible and cover medical expenses.
- Dental Insurance – Dental Service Corporation of North Dakota
- Vision Insurance – North Dakota Vision Services
- Life Insurance – One times your annual salary for term life is paid by AMV. You can purchase additional life insurance in $10,000 increments according to the current premium schedule.
- Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance – One times your annual salary is paid by AMV. You can purchase additional AD&D insurance in an amount equal to your supplemental life insurance coverage according to the current premium schedule for yourself and your spouse.
- Dependent Life Insurance - Coverage for your legal spouse in the amount of 50% of your supplemental life insurance amount and in the amount of $10,000 for your eligible children.
- Flexible Spending Accounts – Full or Limited – Provide you with the opportunity through payroll deduction to set aside a portion of what would have been taxable income and deposit the money into a personal reimbursement account for medical, dental, and dependent care expenses.

Paid Time Off
A Paid Time Off (PTO) is provided to employees for vacation, holiday, personal, and unforeseen circumstances. PTO is available for eligible employees working at least 15 hours, pro-rated on regular hours worked and your length of service.

Catastrophic Leave
A special Catastrophic Account (CAT Account) provides protection from pay losses due to an employee’s hospitalization or long-term serious medical problems. The CAT Account is available for eligible employees working at least 15 hours, pro-rated on regular hours worked.

Disability Program
A serious medical condition can result in the loss of income that is important to you. The disability plans administered by SMP Health System will help to provide protection during such an event. The disability program is available after three months of service when working 30 hours per week.
- Short-Term Disability – 50% after 20 days
- Long-Term Disability – 60% after 90 days

- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – Through Live Well Solutions, SMP Health System provides you and your family members resources to assist in dealing with personal or workplace concerns affecting your life (stress and anxiety, martial/relationship, family, alcohol and substance abuse, grief and loss, parenting, workplace concerns, anger, financial/legal, and child/elder care) with up to three visits per concern at no cost to you.

Retirement and the 401(k) Savings Plan
SMP Health System’s principal source for retirement income is the 401(k) Savings Plan.
- Employee Contributions - You can start contributing to the plan right away.
- Employer Contributions – The first payroll after meeting eligibility requirements an employer contribution of 3% of your pay will be made to your 401(k) account after you have worked 1,000 hours within 12 months and be at least age 21.
- Choose your own investment options.
- Change deferral amounts or make a change in investment options at any time.
- Vesting schedule based on your years of services with 100% after six years.
- Loans are available.
- Access your account online or by phone.
Salary
Ave Maria Village reviews salaries in the area periodically to stay competitive. A new employee’s salary is dependent upon experience and will be discussed during the interview process.

CNA Training – Classes are available locally to become a Certified Nurse Aide.
